Authors of Autumn


It's a busy season of readings for us here at Moon Tide and we couldn't be more excited. Join us on November 2nd at 3:30 p.m. at the Anaheim Public Library - Broadway Branch, for a special Authors of Autumn Reading. This afternoon will feature our three latest Southern California authors at Moon Tide Press, reading and signing their new releases for guests. Our three authors are:

Terri Niccum’s most recent chapbook, Dead Letter Box, was released last month by Moon Tide Press. Her first chapbook, Looking Snow in the Eye, was released in 2015 by Finishing Line Press. Recently, her poems have appeared in Dark Ink: A Poetry Anthology Inspired by Horror, and in Cadence Collective and the Incandescent Mind anthologies, Volume 2 and Selfish Work. Her work has also been featured in The Poeming Pigeon anthologies, From the Garden and Love Poems; Lummox Poetry Anthology 8; Nimrod International Journal; The Maine Review; Oberon Poetry 2018; Literary Orphans; Angel City Review; and Pretty Owl Poetry. She is married to singer-songwriter Bob Niccum and together they enjoy scouting out the live music scene in Southern California.

Michael Miller is a poet, teacher and former journalist who lives in Los Angeles. For more than a decade, he served as a writer and editor for the Los Angeles Times organization, and he founded Moon Tide Press, which has published more than 20 books of poetry to date, in 2006 with fellow poets Lee Mallory and Ricki Mandeville. His own credits include the books Thief After Dark (FarStarFire Press, 2002), College Town (Tebot Bach, 2010), The First Thing Mastered (Tebot Bach, 2013), Angels in Seven (Moon Tide Press, 2016) and Tea and Subtitles: Selected Poems 1999-2019 (Moon Tide Press, 2019). He currently teaches English and leads the creative writing club at Our Lady of Lourdes Parish School in Northridge.

Alexandra Umlas is the author of the full-length collection, At the Table of the Unknown, from Moon Tide Press. She teaches high school English and serves as a reader for Palette Poetry. She holds an M.F.A. in Poetry from California State University, Long Beach and an M.Ed. in Cross-cultural Education.
