Letters to the Leader Book Launch & RAICES Fundraiser is this Saturday, March 23!
Moon Tide Press is proud to release HanaLena Fennel's debut collection of poetry, Letters to the Leader this month.
Please join us this Saturday, March 23rd for the book's official launch reading and a special fundraiser for RAICES at Allmost Studio and Gallery located at 1288 S. La Brea Ave. Los Angeles, CA 90019.
The event is FREE and starts at 7 PM.
Have a drink on us, listen to music, hear some poetry, buy the book. Immerse yourself in art and photography by local artists, poets and musicians. Original pieces and prints will be available to help RAICES continue their mission to help separated families, detained families, unaccompanied minors, and others who are seeking asylum in the United States. Letters to the Leader is a poetic response to the 55 Executive Orders signed by Donald J. Trump in the first year of his presidency. Unflinching in the face of reckless political forces, this collection of intimate poems seek to illuminate the connection between the personal and the political. HanaLena Fennel’s voice weaves the surreal with acute realities about our stark political landscape. Engaging and empathetic, this book untangles the reader’s spirit from the turmoil of a nation confronted with itself.
