Moon Tide is proud to present Tamara Madison as its February 2011 Poet of the Month. A native of a citrus farm near Mecca (that's Mecca, California, not Saudi Arabia), Tamara teaches high school French and writes poetry in English. She's also been featured in several journals and wrote an award-winning chapbook some years back.
I first encountered Tamara's work in the literary magazine Beggars & Cheeseburgers, which contained her hilarious poem "One." That poem got such a reaction when I read it at the Muckenthaler last year that I considered running it here as well, but since Tamara has so many other poems worthy of publication, I figured I'd spread the wealth. So click on the link to the left to read two other examples of her wry, thoughtful verse: "Analog Time" and "Regret."
