Dear friends,

First, I want to say thank you for all the birthday wishes and thoughtful messages last weekend! My day wouldn't have been nearly as special without them!

Second, there are a couple of awesome readings coming up that I'm honored to be a part of.

Next Saturday, October 13th, I'm included in an impressive lineup of poets at the Beside the City of Angels Long Beach Poetry Festival. Some of the readers of the day will include: Eloise Klein Healy, Jack Grapes, Daniel McGinn, Laurel Ann Bogen and Wanda Coleman! I am humbled to be in such great company. The festival begins at 10:30 a.m., runs all day, and is free! I'll be kicking the festival off and reading in the 11 a.m. block along with Bank-Heavy Press and Zachary Locklin. The festival is at the Liberty Gallery, 435 Alamitos Ave., Long Beach.

Then on Sunday, October 21st, I'll be one of the featured poets at the Hitched reading series at Beyond Baroque. I'll be reading with Mae Ramirez, Cassandra Love and Ashaki Jackson. The reading starts at 5 p.m. at 681 Venice Blvd., Venice.
