It does NOT feel like it where I've been (New Orleans and Los Angeles, or as the NOLA cabbie put it, the BIG LA and the little la), but I hear it turned into fall on Saturday? So happy autumn everyone! I hope it treats you real real good.
I'm writing you all to do a little official announcing outside of Facebook — this week a book I have put all my sweat into for a year arrives on the Write Bloody virtual shelves. It's called Glitter in the Blood: A Poet's Manifesto for Better Braver Writing, a writing guide that bleeds and glitters all outside the lines. If you ever wanted to pick my brain about poetry — what makes me love a poem, how I write and edit and wrestle sanity from it at least 76% of the time — you can put down the pick axe and truth serum-laced lemonade. You don't need them anymore. At least, not for that. You just need to get a copy of Glitter in the Blood. I hear it will be available on the Write Bloody site this Friday at this sweet link!
Or if you are in the LA area and not afraid of Carmageddon, you could dash to {open} books in Long Beach this Sunday at 7 p.m. for the book release party, which will include performances by Beau Sia, Jeremy Radin and Adrian Wyatt, plus, you know, me. Party into at this sweet link. I have copies of the book on hand, plus a limited amount of my new CD, Pinking the Moon.
